Kaepenick contra Cutler

[Why do billionaire football team owners give a flying fig what President Dummkopf says?

The answer should be obvious. It’s not fear of Trump. It’s that they are Trump. Billionaires are not allies in the fight against the white-supremacist, anti-labor aims of this administration. They are the beneficiaries. This has gotten twisted in recent months, as people have been grateful for the diverse, proudly political voices that ESPN has hired in recent years, as well as the sight of NFL owners backing their players after Trump’s abhorrent Huntsville, Alabama, speech, where he called NFL protesters “sons of bitches.”  (emphasis added)]

Dare Dolphins Drones Dream? Miami 33 New England 20

Miami, playing at home, comes back in the second half to beat New England 33-20.  We drones can celebrate tonight, but the Dolphins schedule shows a game in New England on 14 Dec.  Too many Dolphins seasons started well only to have the rest of the division reel the Fish in and keep 'em out of the playoffs.

One of the Marino years, the Fins started 7-0, beating teams down in the South Florida heat and humidity, yet still missed the playoffs with a sore armed University of Miami grad (Craig Erickson?) at quarterback after Danny injury and no running game to speak of, a recurring theme in Fish history for like forever.

So one fears this win more a Patsies falling to Earth rather than great win for the Miami Air Breathing Fish.  How many times Can Cameron Wake force fumbles on sacks?

With my nostalgia, Jason Taylor still superior as he'd get sack, force fumble AND score a TD after scooping up the ball.  So Cameron, dude, you can still do better.

Look at the link; Wake gets by the tackle so fast the camera can't follow him.

Dolphins Improbable Comeback

While abhoring cliches, maybe adversity can bring a locker room together?

Still offensive line stinks, but as 50 year fan a 1 and done playoff run will make me happy as expected worse from season.  Dolphins let left tackle go and tried to force fit Johnathan Martin to that side when I had seen him just rag dolled on right side--in between Jaguars games NFL forced me to watch in Orlando--another fine move by Jeff Ireland, witness trade for Bryant McKinnie..

Found disturbing allegation someone on Dolphins staff wanted Martin toughened up as reminded me of them bringing Kevin Gogan in to toughen up and bring some nasty to Dolphins O Line.  Didn't work.

Did Mike Golic vs. Gogan fight occur during that time?  Mr Golic entertains greatly on M and M, even if he always play bullies Greenie.

Sports of Sorts

No one knows why God in her infinite wisdom made sports and handed them down to humankind and yet theories abound.

First, sports helps people to get in and stay in shape.  Like Rule # 1 from Zombieland, cardio.  Good cardio health helps people outrun those zombie bastards and help us live longer even in normal times.  Of course, don't go overboard with it; exercise can kill you.

Next after solo sport like jogging or skiing, we have team sports.  These allow us to escape our mundane lives and identify with a concept greater than ourselves, often a college or university or perhaps pro sports

Of course, people often take things too far like Raiders fans.

'Nuff said.

Or we scream and yell in our living rooms as if that will influence outcomes of games 1000 miles away.  It also seems silly for us to wear all our game gear, putting in the aggregate millions of dollars into the maw of greedy schools supposedly concerned with student athletes and horrible graduation rates and billionaire owners of pro teams.

Nevertheless, in my time of stress--dialysis, paralysis, physiatrists and physical rehab--it helps me to root for my home team, the Florida Gators.  Sheesh, good thing life taught me to deal with soul crushing defeat before this season.

At least I have my Miami Dolphins.

What, a bullying scandal and team turmoil?  Can't a brother catch a break?

Well, at least I have my Chicago Cubs to root for for eternity.

Kick Off Next

Update: Inconceivable!

Oh but of course did actually conceive the Awlphins would lose before game even started.

Nevertheless, even my abysmally low expectations fell far short of the depth to which my professional American football team has sunk.

The Miami Broncos barely beat the Dead Mullet with a historic collapse by the rotting Flippers and by a field goal in overtime.

I could not watch the OT, having already conceived of another appalling, agonizing loss and averted my gaze.

Clank!

That sound you just heard came from another football bouncing off the hands of another Malodorous Mackerel "receiver."

Great Lombardi's ghost, has the World Series game tonight ended or can one still see Albert Pujols taking batting practice?  3 bleeping homers on Saturday.  Bleep him.  Plunk him in the butt every time he gets to the plate.

Sheesh, 'tain't rocket science.

Weird day in American football; Denver seems playing a home game in Miami, and Tampa Bay has home game  in London.

For the Dolphins, my hopes stay high and expectations low.

For explanation, see embedded in Herald story quoted below video of Dolphin receiver, Brandon Marshall, tackled by rotation of the earth.  Great Jumpin; Jehosaphats Ghost.

[They dropped passes — including Brandon Marshall’s fifth dropped touchdown of the season. They missed wide receivers that were open for first downs and touchdowns. They threw interceptions that went 100 yards for scores in the other direction.

They fell out of bounds, apparently tackled by gravity, when all that was before them was an open field and an apparent touchdown in the offing.]

Dolphins-Browns Turning Point

Even the professional sports scribe noticed stud pass rusher Cameron Wake could not cover a back out in the flat. The writer failed to report, however, that his borders on pro football malfeasance.

[Turning Point: Cameron Wake gave up a 10-yard completion in the flat to Hardesty on fourth-and-10 from the Dolphins' 37 with 1:16 remaining. Four plays later, the Browns scored the go-ahead touchdown.]

Broiled, Grilled, or Blackened: How Do You Like Your Dolphin?

Good thing my Direct TV lets me see every Miami Dolphin "Football" game.

You see in Orlando, FL, the NFL rarely allows me to see the 'Olphins (We have no "D" in Miami.) on broadcast TV, something about broadcast rights of other teams allegedly in FL.

At 53, still have nightmares of creamsicle orange colored jerseys in Tampa doing something vaguely resembling a Jr High school team.

My nephews tell me a pro football team plays in Jacksonville, FL, however if Jax were really a part of Florida, why would the GA Bulldogs play a home game there every 2 years?

So color me in aqua and feel my blues. Dolphins STILL know not how Reggie Bush to use.

C'mon, any idiot sees Bush can't run through the tackles; child, Puhleeze?!

Put Daniel Thomas at I back spot and put Mr. Bush in motion to create mismatches for the defense, and that will create more room to run.

Although the coaches did not miss 3 field goals in last 2 weeks, it looks like they coach systems rather than fit the talent they have.

On defense, my eyes saw our young stud defensive end, Cameron Wake, peel off the line to try and cover a back out of the backfield on the winning Cleveland drive.

The coverage did not go well.

Why not let the man rush the passer?

Your corners can't cover so howzabout a corner blitz?

Then through the cheaper luxury of Direct TV and NFL Ticket for free, I get to see Buffalo beating the hated New England Patriots, so casual observers might conclude the rebuilding plan in Buffalo has gone better than in Miami.

No Dolphins coaches missed 3 field goals in the last 2 games. Nevertheless, with a carcass this rancid, rotting, reeking, devoid of any playmakers, the new owner needs to burn the house down.

Now.

Immediately if not sooner.

Don't tell me of injuries. The Packers lost like a dozen starters and won the LOMBARDI trophy last year. So get new scouts, coaches, gms, vice presidents of personnel.

Start all over again, from bottom to top. Find some players. The 'Awlfins secondary got not just burned like toast but blackened with Chef Paul Blackened [Dolphin] Magic SeasoningHerbs, Spices and Seasonings)

Does Billy Beane know anything about football?
