Converting to Old Testament Fundamentalism

Go ahead and count me as to have to join the conservative fundamentalists in renewing my commitment towards living according to the Old Testament, starting by refusing to pay interests on debt. 

Well in truth, keeping living with my inability to pay any debts, but I digress.

Of course, this starts after finishing the 3 pork loin segments in my freezer.  (Got whole loin for $1.99 per lbs and think nice honey mustard glaze will work well.  3 Tbs honey, 3 Tbs mustard, 1 1/2 Tbs red wine vinegar)

No oysters or shellfish.  Check  Wait, do lobsters and shrimps count as shellfish?  They have exoskeletons so do they count?

Plus, count me onboard with the Lord when He told the Israelites to slaughter Amalekites. Got some pretty sketchy neighbors and nice to have Biblical Old Test authority--plus Stand Your Ground Law in FL--to shoot the crap out of 'em if necessary..

Carl Ericsson of Watertown, who last month pleaded guilty but mentally ill to second-degree murder, was sentenced to life in prison Friday. Ericsson was charged in the Jan. 31 killing of retired Madison High School teacher and track coach Norman Johnson, who was shot twice in the face as he answered his front door.

Kenneth Meyer, the Lake County state's attorney, said Ericsson has indicated that the decades-old locker room incident led to the shooting. Johnson was a high school sports star and Ericsson was a student manager.

A Foxconn Technology Group employee jumped to his death Wednesday from a company-rented apartment building in southwest China's Sichuan province, local police said.

At least a dozen Foxconn employees have jumped to their deaths or tried to do so since 2010, casting spotlight on the world's largest contract maker of electronics. The Taiwan-based company has been besieged with reports of poor working and living conditions for its workers at factories and dorms. The company installed nets in 2010 to prevent such deaths after the spate of suicides.

A public security bureau in Chengdu city announced the death Wednesday on the Sina Weibo microblogging site. The post identifies the employee only by the surname Xie and says the cause remains under investigation.

The official Xinhua News Agency said the man was 23.

In February, Foxconn — which employs about 1 million workers at its massive plants in China — said it had raised wages by up to 25 percent and that it was taking measures to limit workers' total work hours.

The 23 year-old worker fell to his death from his apartment located outside the plant in the southwestern city of Chengdu, according to a statement by Foxconn. The worker had joined the company last month and police were investigating the death.

Apple and Foxconn reached an agreement in March to improve conditions for the 1.2 million workers assembling iPhones and iPads, a landmark decision that could change the way Western companies do business in China.

According to the agreement, Foxconn would hire tens of thousands of new workers to reduce overtime work, improve safety protocols and upgrade housing and other amenities.]

"George Bush’s head appears in a couple of beheading scenes. It's not a choice, it’s not a political statement. We just had to use whatever heads we had lying around."

In a joint statement released last night, Benioff and Weiss admitted that publicizing this fact was a bad idea. "We use a lot of prosthetic body parts on the show: heads, arms, et cetera," they wrote. [Aid organizations need donations to fight food shortages in West Africa

WASHINGTON (CNS) -- Millions of people in West Africa's Sahel region face severe food shortages that could be catastrophic if international aid falls short in the coming weeks, according to representatives of Catholic and other humanitarian organizations.

"The crisis is already here. People are already starving in some parts of the region," said Bill Worms, Sahel communications officer for Caritas Internationalis in Rome.

U.N. agencies estimate that 18 million people, including 3 million children, are at risk of hunger in parts of Chad, Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Gambia, Mauritania, Cameroon and northern Nigeria.

Organizations like Caritas Internationalis, the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development and Catholic Relief Services are working to solve problems of hunger and malnutrition. Even with the humanitarian response, there still is not enough money to address the overwhelming need, said Bill Rastetter, CRS country representative for Niger.
