Andre Ware's Lack of Metaphorical Awareness

As if watching  the Gators stumble and bumble for 'pret' near a half didn't bring enough angst, broadcasting gods cursed me with Andre Ware color commentating.

Mr Ware apparently has never met a metaphor he could not mangle..

"On the field with smeltering heat."  Andre, buddy, think you meant "sweltering."  While know smelters produce very high heat, the verb should read as "smelt" unless one means a small fish and thus a noun.

"Wrap your hands around that," about FL receiver, Jeff Demps, who runs a 9.96 100 meter dash.  Usually one wraps one's head around concept of fastest college football player.

Touchdown!!!  TD!!!

Gators tie the game!

Sheesh, Gators tie game at end of first half.

Weeping silently.
