[Consider this: just one average fair trade purchase this advent season by every churchgoer in America would lift one million families out of extreme poverty for one whole year.
Simply by diverting a small portion of our spending from the shopping mall to fair trade, we have a wonderful opportunity to proclaim good news to the poor.
No extra giving. No unnecessary spending. No pity purchasing. Just buying things we were going to buy anyway.
